PUBLIC NOTICE STATE OF ALASKA – DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION Sterling Water Works Sewage Solids Monofill, Sterling, Alaska The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SWYA072-31, to SWW MGMT LLC, to operate a sewage solids monofill. APPLICANT INFORMATION: Landowner: Andrew Holland Landfill Operator: SWW MGMT LLC Location: 37605 Robinson Loop Road, Sterling, Alaska 99672 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The monofill will be used for the disposal of sewage solids generated from the Sterling Water Works septage treatment facility which is used to dewater septage from domestic sources. The facility is located on a 28-acre parcel with approximately 4 acres cleared and developed for the recently built septage treatment plant and the proposed monofill. The monofill will consist of two separate cells constructed in two phases to reduce the overall area of the open monofill cell at any time and will accept only sewage solids generated from dewatered septage from the onsite treatment facility. The anticipated volume of sewage solids to be disposed of at this facility is approximately 2,196 cubic yards.
