Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Avenue, Everett, WA, in conjunction with a remote meeting via the following Zoom link: Zoom Webinar Information: Join Online: https://zoom.us/j/94846850772 or by Phone: (253) 215-8782 Meeting ID: 948 4685 0772 PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 26-006 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO SIGN THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN SNOHOMISH COUNTY AND EAST COUNTY PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT FOR PHASE I OF MALTBY SPORTS PARK PROJECT Summary: The ordinance approves and authorizes the execution of an Interlocal Agreement that will provide financial assistance to the East County Park and Recreation District (ECPRD) for a feasibility study to convert grass sports fields to synthetic turf at Maltby Community Park. ECPRD owns, manages, and maintains Maltby Community Park. The property has grass sports fields that ECPRD would like to convert to synthetic surfaces. Snohomish County has a settlement agreement with King County for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant referred to as the ‘Brightwater Project’ within its jurisdiction. The settlement agreement agrees to pay Snohomish County in mitigation funding for the impact of the Brightwater project. Of this mitigation funding, $30,400,000 has been identified towards recreation facilities and improvements in the Maltby area. The County has identified the Park as a potential use for these funds and would like to pursue those options by entering into this agreement. At the Public Hearing, the Council may consider amendments to the proposed ordinance.
