NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE SAN JUAN COUNTY FIRST BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Juan County Council will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving testimony to consider three ordinances; Revising the San Juan County Beginning Cash Balances Amending Ordinance 21-2025, Revising the San Juan County 2026 Budget for Emergency Appropriations Amending Ordinances 21-2025 and __-2026, and Revising the San Juan County 2026 Budget for Supplemental Revenue & Appropriations Amending Ordinances 21-2025, __-2026 and __-2026, The public hearing will be held in the Council Hearing Room at 55 Second Street, Friday Harbor, Washington on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, beginning at 9:15 AM and will also be accessible virtually, via Microsoft Teams. SUMMARY: The cash adjustment ordinance increases beginning cash across all County funds by about $3.31 million. The emergency appropriations ordinance increases expenditures by about $27,000 in County Current, Grants, Environmental Stewardship, Parks & Fair, Emergency Communications, Crime Victims, Septic & Housing Loans, Affordable Housing, Capital Improvement, Clean Water Utility Capital Projects, and Information Technology funds. The supplemental appropriations ordinance increases appropriations by $30,000 because of new state or federal grants in the Affordable Housing fund.
