The public may also participate on Zoom.com at https://us06web.z oom.us/j/85191946078?pwd=BsavMPDhWk9awGQ7YlVBdX0ZNR0QrS.1 Meeting passcode 12345 or by phone +12532050468,,85191946078# ,,,,*12345# Proposal: (PVAR2026-00001) The Clallam County Public Works Department is requesting a shoreline variance to construct an approximately 221 square foot structure to house filtration and disinfection equipment and an approximately 40 square foot water dispersion trench to be connected to the Bullman Beach Water System (BBWS) preexisting well and related water treatment and conveyance infrastructure in a part of the regulated stream buffer of Bullman Creek. The BBWS, a Group A Public Water System, is the source for the residents and businesses of the Bullman Beach development. The proposal is in direct response to the Notice of Correction order by the WA State Department of Health via Superior Court Order that placed receivership of the BBWS under Clallam County to provide filtration of the source water to comply with state requirements for a water system classified as groundwater under the influence of surface water. Location of the proposal: The subject parcel is located 12.3 miles northeast of Sekiu and is within Section 20, Township 33N, Range 14W W.M. The proposed new structure will be located landward of the existing well house on Parcel 143320-110000 and addressed as 1592 Hwy 112, Sekiu. The parcel’s legal description is PTN of 1A in Lot 1 EXC R/Ws; Govt Lot 2 EXC R/W and EXC TX#s and described in metes and bounds in Exhibit A of the Bargain and Sale Deed (AFN: 2026-1482754). The site is accessed off of Highway 112. Compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA): This proposal is categorically exempt from SEPA review per WAC 197-11-800(6)(e), where the granting of a variance based on special circumstances, not including economic hardship, applicable to the subject property, such as size, shape, topography, location or surroundings and not resulting in any change in land use or density. Additionally, the proposal is categorically exempt per WAC 197-11-800(3), Repair, Remodeling and Maintenance activities and (23)(b) Utilities. Public hearing and comment deadlines: Any interested person may submit written comment on the proposal prior to the close of the open record hearing or provide oral testimony during the public hearing. Staff will prepare a report with a recommendation to the Hearing Examiner, generally av-ailable seven days before the hearing, which will be entered into the public record at the hearing. The decision on the application will be made by the Hearing Examiner within 10 working days after the record closes. Any person may also submit a written request to DCD to receive a notice of the decision once it is made.
