Notice of Public Hearings and comment period on state shoreline rules The Department of Ecology is proposing amendments to rules that implement the Shoreline Management Act (RCW 90.58), specifically: Chapters 173-18, 173-20, 173-22, 173-26, and 173-27 WAC. The proposed rules are open for comment through November 17, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Comments also will be accepted during the following public hearings, which include an open house from 5 to 6 pm, with the hearing starting at 6 pm: • October 19: Anacortes Public Library, 1220 10th Street, Anacortes • October 22: Virtual (Zoom) hearing.
