Clallam Conservation District Election Resolution #26-003 (This is Updated and Replaces Resolution #25-07) January 13, 2026 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the Clallam Conservation District (CCD) operates under the laws of the State of Washington applicable to conservation districts. WHEREAS, the District is governed by a five-member board, as set out in RCW Chapter 89.08 and WAC Section 135-110 and WHEREAS, the District previously adopted Resolution #25-07, election resolution pursuant to RCW 89.08; and WHEREAS, the District desires to replace Resolution #25-07 in its entirety with this Resolution #26-003, as the official updated election resolution for the 2026 Supervisor Election. It is RESOLVED that a mail in only election will be held for an open position on the Clallam Conservation District Board of Supervisors. The final day and time to return your ballot is Election Day, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 by 4:00 PM. There will be no in person voting and no poll site. IT IS ALSO RESOLVED that eligible voters and candidates must be Clallam county registered voters who reside within the boundaries of Clallam County. The Clallam Conservation District is located at the Armory Square Building, 228 W First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles, WA. Regular office hours are Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. OPEN POSITION Elected Conservation District Supervisor – Term expiring May 2026, currently held by Wendy Rae Johnson. The filing deadline for candidates to file their required information is February 9, 2026, all required candidate information must be submitted by 4:00 PM. Information on the elected position and required candidate information is located at clallam cd.org/elections-appointments. The required information must be filed at the following location: 228 W First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles, WA 98362, during regular office hours or by email to info@clall amcd.org. MAIL OUT BALLOT REQUEST DEADLINES To vote in this election a voter must request a ballot from Clallam Conservation District. A request can be made online, by phone, or by email. The Clallam Conservation District will fulfill the request by sending a ballot by regular mail to the voter who made the request. To make a request online, go to clallamcd.org/elections-appointments. To make a request by phone, please call(360) 775-3747. To make a request by email, email info@clallamcd.org The last day to request a ballot is Wednesday February 18, 2026 by 4:00 PM. Requests made after the deadline will not be fulfilled. A ballot request is not considered complete until the voter has provided sufficient information to determine the individual’s eligibility to vote. At a minimum, this includes a voter’s name and address used for their voter registration and their current mailing address to receive a ballot. Voters are responsible for ensuring that their ballot request includes all required information. The voter must also provide a way of communication for district staff. The failure to respond to any follow-up communication from district staff may result in the non-fulfillment of a ballot request. Failure to provide information sufficient to determine a voter’s eligibility and current mailing address will result in the non-fulfillment of a ballot request. BALLOT RETURN METHODS By Mail: A voter may choose to return a ballot by mail. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day, March 17, 2026. Postmarked ballots will be accepted and counted through March 30, 2026. In Person: A voter may choose to return a ballot in person. Ballots returned in person must be deposited in Clallam Conservation District’s official ballot drop box. The Clallam Conservation District’s official ballot drop box is located outside of the CCD’s office door at 228 W First Street, Suite H, Port Angeles, WA 98362. All ballots that are returned to the drop box must be placed into the drop box by the voter themselves. The drop box will be closed at 4:00 P.M. on Election day, March 17, 2026. The election supervisor will be Kim Williams. A Conservation District Supervisor is a public official who serves a three-year term without compensation. They set district policy and direction for the conservation district.
